What Is Narrative Therapy?
Narrative is simply rewriting your story. This can be a past story, or one were currently dealing with. The goal here is to let go of the past and move toward the future. Being empowered is the key. When we get in touch with our deepest values, and with what is real, we can make our dreams a reality.

Narrative therapy is all about empowerment. When we rewrite our stories, we rewrite out future. Every single decision that we make is going to determine the trajectory of our life. Our decisions will be based off of our story.

Narrative therapy can improve our relationships. This is because our stories can shape how we interact with the world. The stories that we tell ourselves are going to determine our mental framework. Our mental framework will determine how we respond.

We will definitely get improved results in life with narrative therapy. This is because our life is a series of stories and decisions that we make. If we want to change our lives, we have to change our story. Moving from a place of disempowerment to empowerment is key.
Rewrite Your Story
1. Never put immediate gratification over the long term mission
What this means is that it’s easy to choose the easy path. Going for short term gratification over the long term mission is not a way to reach your goals. Be careful of how you think and how you feel.
2. Choose empowerment
We must choose empowerment everyday. Every single decision that we make can lead toward freedom or not. Keep your goals at top of mind and who your doing this for.
3. Ask better questions
When we ask better questions we get better answers. The quality of the questions that we ask will determine the quality of our lives. Ask empowering questions like what can I learn from this, and how can I embrace this to move forward.
Implementation
Narrative therapy can be implemented everyday through our actions. Every single day we have an opportunity to get better. The question is will you take advantage of it or not. Every moment is a new opportunity to rewrite our story. We no longer have to be victims of the past, we can be victors of the future.
