What Are The Cardinal Virtues Of Stoicism?

The cardinal virtues of stoicism are courage, justice, temperance, and wisdom. These are all designed to live your best life and become the greatest version of yourself. These are designed to be practiced everyday. Becoming a virtues person doesn’t just happened, it has to be practiced.

Courage

1. Do it anyway

Yes we will all have fear, but can you do ot any way? Courage is not the absence of fear, it is the presence of fear and doing it anyway. We can use fear as a tool. We must know fear, and our tendencies and predispositions to navigate it in a skillful manner.

2. Seek change

All change starts from within, remember this and you will stay free. It takes courage to really change. We have to change our old habits and ways of being. for this we must be willing to sacrifice who we are for what we could become.

3. Create a new way

Don’t be afraid to walk your own path. It is really the only way because everything else is taken. You must be the change you wish to see in the world. Find your purpose and walk your path everyday.

Justice

1. Defend what is real

You must be willing to defend what is real. This means you have to stand guard at the door of your mind. Be careful what you watch, listen to, and the energy your around. Be willing to protect the truth.

2. Protect your mind

You have to protect your mind from negative energy. This includes people, circumstances, an energy. Do this by fortifying your mind. Engage in positive, uplifting habits; as well as practicing philosophy.

3. Be a beacon of light

It’s so important to be a beacon of light. Do everything you can to be a light and model for what is possible. This comes from really being about that life and practicing what you preach. Be a light, not a shadow; processing what you know leads to wisdom.

Temperance

1. Purity

Purity is all about being pure in our thoughts, words, and actions. We can not always control the external circumstance, but we can control how we respond. This really comes down to our daily habits.

2. Practice self agency

Self agency is all about having autonomy over your own life. You have to control what you can and let the rest go. Give your self a space to think and process information. Organize your thoughts to get better results.

3. Be the truth

You must become the truth. The truth is always available, the question is will you be receptive to it or not. The truth is the highest form of frequency. Often times we have to overcome ourselves in order to get there.

Wisdom

1. Apply what you know

You must apply what you know. It is the application of knowledge that leads to wisdom. You don’t just want to be a human filing cabinet, we have to apply what we know. Speed of implementation is key.

2. Expand your horizons

It’s very important to become a life long learner. The more you learn, the more you can grow. It’s important to learn about things that in alignment with your goals. Keep learning and expand the mission.

3. Conquer yourself

This is perhaps the most important thing. It’s not that you have to overcome the external circumstances, it’s that you have to overcome yourself within the circumstances. We do this one step at a time.
