Goal setting is very important for a variety of reasons. Having goals allows you to have an aim that you work toward everyday. Many people are aimless, and it doesn’t have to be this way. Writing goals down and reviewing them will help keep you on track. There is something about putting pen to paper that can’t be matched.
How To Have A Goal Setting Process
1. Set S.M.A.R.T. goals
Many of us have new years resolutions, but few of us follow through. This is probably because the way were going about it. We don’t have a clear plan, and we tend to take the kitchen sink approach. When we do this, we set ourselves up for failure. Setting S.M.A.R.T. (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time bound) goals is a great way to accomplish what you want. Right goals as if you already have them, then do what it takes to get there. Know your why and write out all the steps. Research shows you are mush more likely to accomplish your goals if you write them down.
2. Dream beyond all measure
Give yourself permission to say what it is that you really want. We have something called the reticular activating system (RAS) in the brain, which acts as a filter of what’s going on in the unconscious. That part of the brain is designed to focus on what is important to you, and block out the rest.
3. Coherence
This is the ability to align your thoughts, emotions, intentions, words, and actions. Under this state of mind, magic can take place. This is because it will allow you to have the highest energetic power. When your all scattered, so will your energy, and your life. Learning how to become balanced is key.
4. You don’t attract what you want, you attract who you are
Everybody wants things, but it’s really through our habits, what were exposed to, beliefs, and actions by which we attract things. Becoming aware of what were watching, what were listening to, who were hanging around, addictions, and ways of being that don’t serve us. Awareness is the first step to change. Once your aware, you can take the necessary steps to change it. When it comes to achieving your goals, you must first become the type of person that is capable of holding that wattage. Real talk, most of you don’t have the character to attain and retain your dreams.
5. Now That’s Boss Shit Right There
That’s what you want people to know when they see you. Nothing you do is average. Everything you do is to bring freedom into existence. You will not take no for an answer.
6. Be Demanding
Be demanding with your life and the direction you want to move it in. The reason why you don’t have what you want is because your too fucking slow. Being assertive is key because know one is going to create your life for you. They don’t even know what direction your supposed to go in. Taking 100% responsibility is needed to achieve your optimal life.
7. Develop That Dog
If you have a goal that you know in your heart is your, you must go for it. There will always be challenges that come up, but we must persevere. Obstacles are just opportunities to find out what to do differently. Failure is feedback, don’t change the goal, adjust the approach. The only time to change your goal is if it’s no longer in alignment with you, or it’s common sense to do so. In this case it is not quitting, it’s just making an intelligent decision that will set you up for future success.
8. Speed
How do you get so much shit done? I do it now. You don’t have what you want because your too slow, you procrastinate. Doing things now works because speed is key. Speed is very important because it lets the universe know your not playing around, and you mean business. You have a sense of urgency. How fast are you willing to implement what you have learned? This takes courage and willingness to go to the next level. Playing it safe makes you stale, and incompetent. Your best life is waiting.
9. Set and withhold standards
Standards are the bench marks that we have for ourselves in our lives. They are things that we will and won’t accept. In order to create standards, we must first start with the mind. Our mind is where they are all born. Go through each area of your life and see if there is anything that is not worthy, of you, your goals and values. If there is, make adjustments, or eliminate it.
10. The Art Of Saying No
You must master the art of saying no. Saying no to opportunities that don’t move your life forward. There might be a lot of great opportunities, but it doesn’t mean that they’re right for you. Filtering them through the lens of your values is a good idea.
