Champion Mindset- How to Execute, Develop that Dog, and the Art of Being a Savage
What is a Champion?
A champion is someone who does not cut corners and does whatever possible to get the competitive edge in life. Champions know who they are, and are ready for anything. Most people ask what they can get away with and still do what they do (drugs, alcohol, television). What’s wrong with this they say, but champions are asking what’s right with something, and are looking for habits to get them to the next level. We are willing to sacrifice who we are for what we could become. Life will qualify us with challenges to become who were designed to be. To sacrifice is to make sacred; whatever your sacrificing for, your making that thing sacred.
How to Execute
1. Speed of implementation
This refers to learning something and applying it quickly. We do not just want to walk around as human fling cabinets. Knowledge is not power, knowledge applied is power and wisdom. The number one form of knowing is experience.
2. Be a great decision maker
The word decision is derived from latin literally meaning to cut off. When you make a real decision, your cutting off the possibility of anything else happening. Not hoping, not wishing, but a real decision. Good decisions are made quickly and changed slowly.
3. Temperance
Temperance is the ability to manage our emotions in any circumstance. Not much more is important than this. If we can manage our emotions, we can manage our reality.
How to Develop That Dog
What is that dog mentality?
This is the do whatever it takes mindset.
1. No retreat, no surrender
If you have a goal that you know in your heart is your, you must go for it. There will always be challenges that come up, but we must persevere. Obstacles are just opportunities to find out what to do differently. Failure is feedback, don’t change the goal, adjust the approach. The only time to change your goal is if it’s no longer in alignment with you, or it’s common sense to do so. In this case it is not quitting, it’s just making an intelligent decision that will set you up for future success.
2. Do hard shit
Doing hard things and putting yourself through challenging situations will make you hard. This will allow you to be more resilient against obstacles, and to take more on. For example, I recently undergone a 5 day fast. I had nothing but water and bone broth for 5 days. Why did I do this? Primarily for mental resilience, but there is also a lot of health benefits. I got a lot from it in terms of character and insight. Doing things like this on a regular basis will build character and carry over to everything else in life.
3. Know your why
Knowing your why is akin to knowing your purpose. When times get hard, you can call on your why. Doing things for the people you love is a common one. One persons obedience is connected to so many peoples destines; meaning everything we do can significantly impact other people. If you don’t have a why, you will get knocked down every time. Those with a why can endure almost any how.
The Art of Being a Savage
1. Courage is calling
Courage is the way of the warrior. We will all have times in life where we are asked to demonstrate courage, will we answer the call? In the moments of courage is where our destiny is foraged. It is like a muscle that can be strengthened with use. We can train for courage by doing what I mentioned above by doing hard things. I stand barefoot in the snow for 10-15 minutes as a stoic practice. You do feel like a savage when your done if I may add.
2. Born to lead
We all can be leaders because it is not a fixed trait, and is something that can be developed. Sure, there may be some genetic aspect, but like everything else, it’s a skill that can be learned. Leaders are made through the person we become. It’s in the moments that no one is looking that create us. We first make our habits, then our habits make us. We are what we repeatedly do. A real leader leads by example, not so much by what they say, but what they do.
3. Free your mind
We must free our minds from limitation. F.E.A.R. is false evidence appearing real. We must confront all of our fears, doubts, and insecurities. Free your mind of limiting beliefs and who you think your supposed to be, and become who you really are.
