Principles of the Good Life
1. Awareness
Awareness is the first step to change. If we are going to change anything for the better, we need to start with awareness. Awareness gives you the space to think and make effective decisions. It allows you to know who you are and your journey.
2. Stay ready so you don’t have to get ready
This speaks to having a plan and executing. When your always on point and practicing habits, when a challenge comes, you will be prepared. It’s better to be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in a war.
3. Don’t rush the process, trust the process
Whether you want to start a new way of eating, or accomplish another goal, it’s going to be a process. We can not take short cuts because the results will be undesirable. Stick to the plan, and results will come.
4. Value you health
When your not healthy, nothing else really matters. It’s very difficult to enjoy life and express your potential if your not healthy.
5. Be the change you wish to see in the world
We all want change, but we don’t want to change that much. This means if we want the outer world to change, we must first change our inner world. Where ever we go, there we are. Everything you see in your outer world is a reflection if your inner world (Values, habits, thoughts, emotions, actions).
6. Do it your way
This speaks to doing what we know in our heart is true, despite of what anyone else says. We often already know the answers, we just need to act. Having the self to live your life and not anyone else’s. Being authentic to you and living by your own values. You are not designed to be anyone else, no one is like you, and there will never be another one. If you don’t do you, you wont happen.
7. Distraction steals, empowerment heals
Distraction is literally everywhere. Most of us would much rather tune into something fear based that doesn’t actually add value to our lives. What’s beautiful is often taken for granet. Empowerment is readily available in the form of podcasts, books, and experiences. The question is our we engaging in them? When you improve one area of your life, the others will get better as well because it’s all connected.
8. Our education is within our power
Our system of education right now is not setting us up to be happy, healthy, and sovereign individuals. We learn about things that usually don’t help us in the real world. Not to say it doesn’t have value, but were taught what to think instead of how to think. We have the opportunity to learn about anything we want through various mediums. The most valuable form of learning is experience.
9. Give yourself a space to think
We are inundated with a plethora of information everyday. We have a ton of knowledge, but are starving for wisdom. Rarely do we stop, think, and process what we actually learned. There is a lack of deep thought and devotion to excellence. Be a light, not a shadow. Processing information and applying what we know leads to wisdom.
10. Challenges can be alchemized into gifts
Everything that we go through is designed to qualify us for the person we are meant to become. Even the toughest circumstances, there is a gift. We can not skip to that and ignore the struggle, but at the end of pain, there is success.
